Rooms

Shalom College is known for its bright, spacious and airy rooms. Each resident has his or her own private bedroom/study plus wash facilities. There are no shared rooms.

Shalom College is made up of two buildings, the Oval Wing and the Barker Wing, which are linked by corridors and common rooms on all floors.

We therefore offer two types of rooms: shared bathroom (Oval Wing rooms) and ensuite (Barker Wing rooms).

Applicants can indicate the type of room they prefer on their application forms and we will do our best to accommodate these preferences.  It is important, however, to first check out the rates as rooms with private ensuite bathrooms are more expensive. You can apply online here. 
 

Oval Wing Rooms

Shalom College has three floors of rooms in the Oval Wing. Newly refurbished in February 2005, Oval Wing rooms are single bedrooms with a shared bathroom.

Each floor has three sets of bathrooms containing private shower cubicles. Please note: shared bathrooms are not co-ed. Male and female bathrooms are separate. 

Oval Wing rooms are furnished with:

• a bed
• built-in lockable cupboards
• a desk
• office chair
• a bedside table
• bookshelves
• a mirror
• a heater
• a noticeboard

Barker Wing Rooms

These newly built rooms were opened in July 2003 and are furnished with:

• a single ensemble bed
• ample built-in lockable cupboards
• a bedside table
• a desk
• office chair
• bookshelves
• a mirror
• a noticeboard

Barker Wing rooms are also equipped with:

• a private ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin
• a telephone
• an Ethernet socket for direct high-speed connection to UNSW campus-wide internet facilities
• TV aerial connection point
• underfloor heating
• ceiling fan
• and most have a private lockable balcony.
