Common Areas

Within Shalom College, there are a number of common areas open to all residents. These include:

Common Room

The largest common area, located adjacent to the dining room, the common room has a kitchenette, table tennis and foosball table for residents to enjoy. The common room also has Foxtel (cable) TV and high-quality audio/visual equipment. It is frequently used as a venue for Shalom College events including end-of-semester parties, “Shalom Idol”, quiz and game nights.

Pool Room

The pool room is an area where residents may play pool, relax on the couches or watch TV. The pool room links the Oval and Barker Wings on the first floor of the college.

TV Room

The TV room is a comfortable area where students may relax on the couches and watch TV or DVDs. It is situated between the Oval and Barker Wings on the second floor of the college.

Newspaper Room

RESSOC maintains a subscription to the Sydney Morning Herald which is available in the open plan newspaper room. Located centrally in the college, the newspaper room also offers residents a place to relax and socialise.

Music Room

The music room is an area where residents are free to play their own musical instruments or the Shalom College piano. It is located on the ground floor and away from the residential area of the college.
